Beach Club Has Busy December
by Nancy Pindur
The Virginia Beach Kiwanis, Town Center had a very busy month of December. On December 6th members, headed by Marilyn Oxford, breaskfsted with youngsters and senor citizens at Hope Haven Home in Virginia Beach and brought gifts for the children and cookies for the seniors. Members got together for a holiday party on December 12th at one of the best attended social events in a long while. It is good to get together and socialize with fellow Kiwanians! There was plenty of good conversation along with wine, cheese, hors d'oeuvres, sweets and conviviality. On December 16th members assisted the Salvation Army with its towy and gift distribution of Angel tree gifts at the distribution center. This is an annual event which is quite heartwarming. On December 23rd members will distribute Chirstmas dinner baskets to designated needy families in our area, headed by our member Wayne Foshay. We are delighted by the number of visitors we have had at our weekly meetings this month who show interest in becoming members of this very worthwhile organization. We look forward to a new year as heartwarming as this past year.
