Light The Night Walk
by Rosemary Cummings
Delaware Kiwanians, Key Clubbers, and K-Kids Champions for a Cure, walked on the breezy, bright and clear Saturday evening Oct 16 to raise funds for the Delaware Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Key Club member, Sara Hall and K-Kids member, Cruz Harmon, Jr. carried the Team banner, which the DMV Kiwanis Kids signed and decorated. Walkers carried red or gold balloons for support or in memory of those suffering with these diseases. Key Club members from Indian River HS volunteered during the preliminary events to hand out food, distribute shirts and inflate the balloons the walkers carried in the walk. Among the walkers was Key Club Gov. Rachel Slotter and Zone Administrator Millie Edgar. The final count is not yet in for the amount raised toward the $1,500 Team Goal.
