Airy Kiwanis Expresses Appreciation to Retiring
State Trooper

Mt. Airy Kiwanis used one of its March meeting
programs to say a special thanks to its much
beloved resident State Police Trooper supervisor,
Sgt. Palmer Grotte. After 27 years with the MD.
State Police and the past 18 assigned to Mount
Airy, Sgt. Grotte has announced his retirement,
effective April 1. Sgt. Grotte remarked, "Mt.
Airy is a special place. I enjoyed myself and
18 years later, I wonder where the time went." Mt. Airy and Walkersville are the last two municipalities in Maryland served
by the Resident Trooper Program. Presenting a
Kiwanis Certificate of Appreciation to Sgt. Grotte
is Mt. Airy Kiwanis President, Stephanie Dahlquist.
