Pancake Breakfast Successful with Kiwanis Kids
Help
by David Landis
The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines - Ocean
City Winter Pancake Breakfast at The Community
Church of Ocean Pines on Saturday, March 7 was
a sucess. Not only did the public turn out, but
the local school Kiwanis affiliated clubs tunred
out to help. Pictured (L-R) are helpers Montajha
Bowen, Paige Getchell, Tabitha Edwards, and Zoie
Williams, four members from the Buckingham Elementary
School K-Kids Club, and Kathrine Bakke and Natalie
Cieri, two members from the Stephen Decatur High
School Key Club. Not pictured are Key Club members
Taylor Tobak and Rachel Slotter. All the students
helped wait on tables and cleanup at the breakfast,
earning them service hours and great appreciation
and gratitude from the parent Kiwanis club. The
school Kiwanis Clubs affiliates are a real asset
where children learn what Kiwanis service to
the community is all about. Proceeds from the
Pancake Breakfast go to the Scholarship Foundation
of the local club from which scholarships are
awarded annually to deserving local high school
senior students to further their education.
