Kiwanis By the Bay President, Chris Jacobson,
the award for Division 13 Distinguished
Club Award for 2007-08. Sherry Warren,
Club President, was recognized as the club
president last year. Great job, Kiwanis
By the Bay!
Four service
leadership groups attended the recent Hampton
Roads Midwinter Conference held at ODU
March 7th. Division 13 had 40 SLPers to
attend. Shown are some who attended. Included
were Key Club members from Hampton
High
School,
K-Kids
from Bryan Elementary and Forrest Elementary
Schools and the Builders Club from Jones
Middle Magent School in Hampton.
The newest Kiwanis Club in Division 13 was chartered March 16, 2009 at the Hampton
Yacht club. Ninety-five Kiwanians and friends
were on hand as Capital District Governor
Tom Ganse presented the new charter to
Ruthann Kellum, Club President. The night
began with hors d'oeurves and a silent
auction which raised $750 for the club's
administrative operations. Charter members
were recognized and commended for their
perserverance in building the club. Assisting
in the charter presentation were Chris
Jacobson, sponsoring club Kiwanis By the
Bay President, Carla Morin, Capital District
New Club Building Chair, and Judy Pantelides,Division
13 Lt. Governor. The evening ended with
dessert and dancing. The club chartered
with 31 members! The Kiwanis club of Downtown
Hampton meets Tuesday mornings at 7:30
a.m. at the Oasis Restaurant in Hampton.
