LaPlata Club Touch A Truck Project Benefits Kids

The Kiwanis Club of LaPlata helped to sponsor and kick off the Touch A Truck event on a hot and sunny day at the Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf on April 25th. The all day event benefited the Center for Children in LaPlata. It gave kids and their families the opportunity to explore, climb on, and 'toot the horns' on over 40 trucks, construction vehicles, buses, ambulances and police cars. Jim Gorney, Judi Gorney Jonnie Mann and Gordon Mann handed out car seat stickers and talked about the work of the Kiwanis Club of LaPlata and raffled off a toy truck. The event's organizers already talked about next year's event since this was such a big success.
