Council Club Holds Annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Kiwanis Club of Council held its 2009 Easter Egg Hunt Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the William P. Harris Park at Council, VA. Overall attendance at the event was approximately 250 people, which includes the 92 children participating in the Egg Hunt. There were 44 kinds under the age of 6 and 48 childrfen between the ages of 7 and 12.
It took the children less than 4 minutes to hunt a total of 1,500 candy filled eggs this year. There was a special surprise of (100) one hundred eggs containing $1.00 each donated by Tiller Town Freewill Baptist Church.
EVERY child received a candy & toy-filled Easter basket this year, as well as one mother and father each receiving a special Easter basket. There were also Special Eggs redeemed for candy-filled bicycle helmets.
Trupoint Bank donated (2) two ($50) Fifty dollar savings bonds & winners were: Kaitlyn Deel and Emmitt Breeding. (presented by Kathy Jackson)
New Peoples Bank donated (2) two ($50) Fifty dollar savings bonds & the winners were: Haley Huffman and Zackery Tiller. (presented by Janet Bostic)
Bam Bam Construction donated (1) one ($50) Fifty dollar savings bond and the winner was: Isabella Barton. (presented by owner, Darren Ratliff)
