OP/OC Kiwanis Experiences Wallops

Pictured is Rick Baldwin, Manager of the Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) at Wallops Island, Virginia with Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines - Ocean City President, Corky Widerman after he spoke to the club at their weekly meeting at the Ocean Pines Country Club.

The business of the facility at Wallops is putting commercial cargo into space, not manned space flight. They will be servicing the International Space Station between 2010 and 2015, delivering cargo and "taking out the trash", so to speak. The next scheduled launch at Wallops will be on May 5th at about 8 PM, if all goes well, The launch window is between the 5th and the 19th of May.
