Kiwanis of Middlesex Helps MS Programs
by Bill Shuman, President Elect.
This year Kiwanis is helping St. Clare Walker Middle School to continue the program. Reading and Wellness, which allow students to improve the skills necessary to succeed in the classroom. It is Chris DiFulcvio belief and others that one of the best ways to close the achievement gap is to provide enrichment activities to help all students continue learning even while on summer break. This summer, the program will run from the end of June through the end of August and serve students from 1PM-4PM four days a week. Pictured: Jack Tarran along with Dick Goyne given Chris DiFulcvio a check for $1,250.
Our club also gave $1,000 to St. Clare Walker Middle School, for a program called "Middle School 101."This program helps rising 6th graders transition successfully from elementary school to their new lives in middle school. This money helps to defray some of the cost associated with the program.
This is another of the many ways Kiwanis help our children become better students and achieve higher rewards.
