Charlottesville Key Club Faculty Advisors Honored
by Jim Hart
Three distinguished Key Club faculty advisors were honored at a recent meeting of the Charlottesville Kiwanis Club. Pictured at left is Don Foss, current president, who incidentally was the faculty advisor for the Albemarle High School Key Club for 22 years before retiring in 2005. To his left is Liza-Marie Griebenauw who has guided the Key Club at Fluvanna County High School for the past three years. To her left is Diane Clark, who has been a Key Club faculty adviser for 20 years, first at Albemarle High School and since 1998 at Monticello High School. To her left is Teresa Tyler, who has been an energetic and devoted faculty advisor at the Albemarle High School Key Club for the past 14 years. The Charlottesville Club also sponsors Key Clubs at Western Albemarle High School and at Charlottesville High School. Along with a very active CKI Club at the University of Virginia, the 6 SLPs sponsored by the Charlottesville Club engage approximately 400 youth in energetic community service and thoughtful leadership development programs. More than $15,000 was raised for a variety of causes this year and more than 8,000 hours of community service was performed by these youthful future leaders.
