Washington DC Club Supports Wilson High School Key Club

The Kiwanis Club of Washington D.C. continues to benefit from the efforts of its recently chartered Key Club at Wilson Senior High School in Northwest Washington D.C. The club has been actively participating in service projects this past semester that build our homes, schools and communities. For example, on December 6th club plans to participate in the Tenleytown Tree Project with the William R. Singleton - Hope - Lebanon Lodge #6 and Casey Trees to plan 30 trees in the two blocks just north of Tenley Circle. Tenley Circle is right in the school's backyard and will be a great opportunity to further brand the Kiwanis family to D.C. residents who choose to participate in this community tree planting.

The Key Clubbers are also looking forward to joining their sponsoring Kiwanis Club in preparing for the Sharpe Health School Annual Christmas Party in Northeast Washington D.C. Key Clubbers will be assisting Kiwanians with wrapping packages in preparation for distribution by Santa Claus on Thursday, December 11th. This event serves to benefit individuals with disabilities who are in need. This Christmas Party will help remind Kiwanians and Key Clubbers alike that not everyone is fortunate enough to experience the peace, joy and love that so many of us have come to define the holiday season by. We are excited that a new generation of students will be able to participate in one of our club's time honored traditions.

In addition to the upcoming service projects, the leadership is looking forward to participating in Key Leader this spring and gearing up for District Convention. The holiday season will provide an excellent opportunity for the Club Board of Directors to plan projects for the month of ahead. The Kiwanis Club of Washington D.C. looks forward to supporting to our Key Clubbers to the best of our ability.
