Ms. Wheelchair America Blossoms with Kiwanis
by Elana Gardner

This past summer the Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant crowned Michelle Covard (right). The Pageant was hosted in Rockville, MD and Kiwanians from around the Potomac Region answered the call and volunteered to help. One of the prizes was donated by the North West Kiwanis Club which continuously supports the local and national pageants. It was an opportunity to ride the Kiwanis Rose Parade Float. From the time she was crowned the NW club made sure Kiwanis support was felt reaching out when the hurricane struck Michelle's hometown in Texas. On New Year's Day she looked as radiant as the flowers. This year's theme was "Hats off to Entertainment" Thanks to the NW Kiwanis club for typifying the "Objects of Kiwanis" from the east to the west. We tip our hats to you!
