Kiwanis ONE Day
by Jen Dugent, Chair, District Community Service Committee
Mark your calendars for
April 4th, 2009! It is the third annual Kiwanis ONE
Day. This is a day when all of the Kiwanis Family will
be serving around their communities in a big, combined
push of service. Each club is encouraged to get out
into the community with their Service Leadership Program
members.
For more information, please visit the Kiwanis
One Day Web site.
The page has plenty of information on Kiwanis ONE
Day and a helpful game plan to make your day a success!
New this year, clubs that participate in Kiwanis
One Day should report the events on the online monthly
report form. This helps Kiwanis track and measure
service projects, participation, and help improve
our programs. However, if you are requesting a banner
patch, please note that you should complete the online
banner patch form. Patches will be sent only once
per year, on or around October 1.
So are you waiting for? You now have a little over
2 months to plan this project and get your SLP members
involved! A good project can be a great bonding experience,
as well as an opportunity for media coverage and
new members!!
