And the Winners of This Year's Club Newsletter Competition Are......
by Bill Butts
A club's newsletter does not have to be professionally designed or impressively polished to be an effective communications tool. Still, communication comes in many forms, and the winning entries in this year's club newsletter contest not only meet the high judging standards provided by Kiwanis International, they are also impressive examples of newsletter art and they reveal vibrant and engaging club personalities... clubs that have a lot of good things to say and offer, both to their existing members and to new prospects.
We had another very spirited Capital District Newsletter Competition this year. Many impressive entries, across all of the District's regions. The contest fielded both perennially strong publications as well as some emerging and equally impressive new club newsletters. After very thorough deliberations, the judging panel has identified the results from this year's competition. So, without further ado... (drumroll, please)... It gives me great pleasure to announce the winning entries from among those submitted for this year's contest:

See these impressive newsletters for yourself!
We have posted both the winners and runners-up from each Region on the Internet. They are definitely worth a look, and a deserved compliment to their clubs and editors. And I suspect that each of the editors involved with these publications would be very happy to speak with you should you have questions or ask to be added to their email distribution.
To see the results, access the District website (www.capital.kiwanisone.org/public_district/index.aspx), go to the "District News" section in the upper right-hand section of the page and click on the section titled: "Capital District 2009 Club Newsletter Contest Results". You will find three issues each for the first and second place winners from each Region. Enjoy!
In addition, each of the Region winners will also be recognized at the 2010 Mid-Winter Conference(s).
Congratulations to all of the clubs who submitted entries!
