DELMARVA TEAM Light The Night Walk

by Rosemary Cummings

We are excited to be participating again in this year's Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light The Night Walk by raising funds, and are writing to you today to ask for your support. I invite each of you to join us on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.

The Walk is a special night, celebrating and commemorating lives touched by cancer. Walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold for those who have lost a loved one to blood cancer. Light The Night is a magical event that someday will ensure that blood cancers are eliminated. The Delmarva Kiwanis Team, including Kiwanians, Key Club, and K-Kids members, can sign-up to walk at the A.I. duPont Hospital in Wilmington September 26, 2009 or at the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach October 17, 2009.

If you cannot walk, please consider donating $25 or more toward our Delmarva Kiwanis Team goal of $5,000 or more. It is not easy to ask for money, but I feel that this is such a worthy cause. To make a tax-deductible donation, you can donate online by going to our Team page http://pages.lightthenight.org/de/Boardwlk09/DelmarvaKiwanis or send a check donation payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society before October 12 to Kiwanis Foundation, PO Box 786, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. If you would like to join us for the walk, just RSVP to this e-mail or join the Team when you click on the Team page.

Thank you for your consideration of support in the fight against blood cancers. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of the millions affected by these diseases.
