Tabb Kiwanis Club Sponsors "Books for Breakfast"

This is the 4th year Tabb Kiwanis Club partnering with Poquoson Public Library to provide free books to students who eat breakfast at Poquoson Elementary School and Poquoson Middle School. Every year over 200 children classics were given to those who really need them to show our love for both children and books.

 

 

Division 12 Contributes $3500 to Johns Hopkins Children Hospital

On February 23, 2010 a check in the amount of $3500 was presented to the Pediatric Hospital of Johns Hopkins. This yearly presentation confirms the Division 12's commitment to the children within the Baltimore, Maryland metropolitan area. Soundscapes is a new after-school program that uses music-making to foster self-worth, discipline and leadership skills in students from economically disadvantaged homes and geographic areas.  In October of 2009, Soundscapes began its first program with 55 first graders at Carver Elementary School within the Newport News Public School System.  Anne Henry, one of the co-founders of the program, is a member of the Kiwanis Club of City Center, Newport News, which has adopted Soundscapes as one of its community service projects....more
