LaPlata Club Recognizes Student Artists
by Jim Gorney
In January, four members of the Kiwanis Club of Laplata attended The Six Picks High School art exhibit at Mattawoman Creek Art Center where a reception was held to award local high school students who won the art competition. All six high Charles County schools and Robert D. Stethem Educational Center participated and competed for cash prizes. There were several categories for them to enter. The Kiwanis Clubs of Laplata and the other 2 Charles County Kiwanis Clubs provided donations that were used for the cash prizes for the winning students.
