District Foundation Gives Contribution to Johns Hopkins Childrens Center
by Sarah Paul
This year, the Capital District Kiwanis Foundation's successful fund raising activities resulted in producing in excess of $24,000. These proceeds benefited the seven pediatric hospitals located within our Capital district, which include the states of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington, D.C. The Johns Hopkins Children Center, along with the other six pediatric hospitals, received a donation in the amount of $3400 each. Since its inception in 1987, it is estimated that the Capital District Kiwanis Foundation fund raising projects have donated more than a million dollars to the seven pediatric hospitals. This year Joe Maranto presented a check in the amount of $3400 to Denise Goode, Assoc. Dir. of Development and Linda Smeyne, Director of Development at Johns Hopkins Children Center in Baltimore.
