Kiwanian Writes "Story of the Century", Benefits Club
by Bob Powers
Great Bridge Kiwanian Pat Carroll has provided Great Bridge with a unique fundraising project. He has published his first novel and is donating part of the profits to the club. The Story of the Century is a wide-ranging work of historical fiction. It begins in the late nineteenth century as two Bohemian immigrants realize the American dream during the industrial revolution, and later ends in the late twentieth century as their descendents try to unravel cold war secrets involving their parents. The story moves from Washington D.C. to Prague to the bunker under the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia and involves national security secrets at the highest levels of government. Inspired by Pat's father and uncle who worked on the Manhattan Project during World War II, the book is well-researched and well-written. It is a great read. Learn more at patrickcarrollbooks.com
