Richmond Club Holds Food Drive for Feedmore, Inc.
by Ed Stover
At the August 16th meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond, Gayle Haglund, Vice President of Philanthropy at FeedMore, Inc., spoke to about the mission of FeedMore and the role it plays in feeding the hungry in our community. This non-profit is an umbrella organization for The Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, and The Community Kitchen. Sandy Neumann and Cobey Wagoner suggested that our club conduct a food drive for them, as they are usually low on inventory this time of year.
In a partnership with the staff of the Virginia Historical Society, where our club meets, the club collected and delivered 283 pounds of food after our meeting on August 30th.
