JMB HS Key Club Meeting-2010

by Rachel Ingersoll

The first key club meeting at James M. Bennett was very successful. Many new students came out to join the club. We started the meeting with our President, Teddy Dunning, calling the meeting to order. We then said the key club pledge. Teddy talked a little bit about what the club is about, why we do it, and how we operate. One of our vice presidents, Robbie Gutierrez, had us play an icebreaker to get to know each other. We all got in a circle, tossed a squishy ball around the circle, and when the ball came to you, you said your name, grade, and why you joined key club. This welcomed everyone to the group and made us already feel closer. Robin Goldman, our secretary, then talked about events we did last year and how successful everything was. Rachel Ingersoll, Editor then showed a power point presentation including pictures from last year's meetings, events, and inductions. I also included my own opinion of key club, the motives of it, and some of the fun things about it. I also incorporated quotes that were inspiring for the club. Next, Aidan Sharma, our Treasurer, talked about key club's structure and our budget for sending people to different conventions. Teddy then talked about DCON and Key Leader and how great an experience he had at different events he went. We then all talked about the upcoming events we plan to do, "Light the Night", Fall Fest, and a Halloween Weekend in Rehoboth. We plan to have many upcoming events this year so everyone can get involved. We are going to have a great year and help the community!
