The Potomac Region Delivers Oneses to Children's Hospital, Washington, DC

What is a onesie? A onesie is an infant one piece under garment. When newborns enter into this life there is a need for this one piece garment, particularly for extended hospital stays.

"Guardian Angel from heaven so bright, watching beside the infants babies all night.
Fold thy wings around the babes and guard them with love, caring and safety.
Little eyelids cease your winking with peace as the angels watch by night."

The Potomac Region Kiwanis Clubs held their second annual Onesies collection drive for the infant patients at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D. C. The clubs collected over 1200 Onesies , double the over 600 that were collected last year. Additionally, the clubs donated 48 Kiwanis dolls that are used to educate and entertain the children patients. These items were delivered to a very grateful hospital staff on Monday, September 14 for use in the hospital's "Dr. Bear Closet". There is a definite need for items for infants who are sometimes neglected by donors and the Region plans to continue this annual effort. This service project is spearheaded by Young Children Priority One District Chair, Bernice Oden.
