Kiwanis of Laplata Hold Its First Annual Golf Tournament

A special thanks and shout out to our club member, Tom Agostinelli, who chaired The Kiwanis Club of LaPlata’s First Annual golf tournament on June 21st at Hawthorne Country Club. Due to the overwhelming support of its members, friends and the community, we raised thousands of dollars to support our scholarship and children’s programs including the Key Club at LaPlata High School, the Builder’s Club at Milton Somers Middle School, and the K-Kids Clubs at T.C. Martin, Walter J. Mitchell and Mary H. Matula Elementary Schools.

On hand to help our fearless leader were club members Paola Agostinelli, Donna Avery, John Buchanan, Emily Ferren, Amanda Gibson, Jim and Judi Gorney, Rick Hoy, Gordon and Jonnie Mann, Terri Osburne, and Andy Sanford. Becky Sanford and Dylan Santos from the LaPlata High School Key Club were a big help as well.

Members who were not able to help during the event but were in the background getting things done were Bob and Linda Parong and Wanda Ruth.
