Salem Kiwanis Supports Food Pantry Program with $2700

by Vickie Sword

On Tuesday, October 11, 2011, Salem Kiwanis presented a check for $2,700 to Snack Buddies, a Salem/Roanoke County Food Pantry program, which benefits children from preschool to fifth grade in the Salem and Glenvar areas. Counselors from five of the six elementary schools were presented the check. Each spoke about the need of the program and the wonderful benefit to our children. Salem Kiwanis provides approximately 7,500 snacks with their generous and needed donation to this program. Since the 2004-2005 school year Salem Kiwanis has contributed over $15,000 to Snack Buddies. This is only one project that they continue to help with on a regular basis. For more info please visit their web site at http://salemkiwanis.com/.
