Rehoboth Elementary School K-Kids
by Rosemary Cummings
It was the first week of K-Kids, we learned everybody's name. We even have two kids who have the same first and last name and they are not even related, but they are best friends. We talked about (with the new members) different activities we do like the Food Drives, Beach Grass planting, the pancake breakfast at Applebee's, the Bake Sales we do at school, Alex's Lemonade stand. We also sell flowers for Mother's Day. We also do a Haunted house, stuff bears, a Buddy Walk, and the Light the Night Walk.
Back to the Food Drive. Well, we go to Super Fresh or Super G and we ask customers to buy nonperishable items and put the food in the basket or they give us money - like $5 or $10 and we deliver the food to the Cape Henlopen Food Basket. In Beach Grass planting, we go to the beach and plant new grass after they put new sand because we lost a lot of sand when the tide went out during a storm. If we lose all the sand, we would not have a beach to play on in the summer. Another thing we do is go to a Pancake Breakfast at Applebee's where we can be waiters and waitresses and wash tables. Another fun thing we do is a bake sale where first you eat your lunch, and then you go help with the Bake Sale. Gianna Vayda 4th Grade
