Story Books and Stickers at the Salvation Army from The Wilmington DE Kiwanis. The Kiwanis Club of Wilmington, DE continued their monthly Priority One reading program at the Salvation Army Childcare Program located in the heart of the city. On Tuesday, October 25th, Kiwanis members, Dave Wilson, Charma Bell, Pat Bartoshesky and Tyrone Perry, who is the Director of Future Stars at the Kiwanis Fraim's Boys and Girls Club, read several books and rewarded over 100 stickers to 45 adorable pre-school children. They all enjoyed making new friends with the stories and stickers and are looking forward to their next visit.
Boy Scout Helpers are Wilmington, DE Kiwanis Heroes. Kiwanis Club of Wilmington member, Charma Bell was offered assistance by the Assistant Scout Master, Andy Horn, who works for the United States Postal Service. He saw the conditions of a First Tee of Delaware golf shed while delivering mail and wanted to help. On Sunday, October 23, 2011, Boy Scout Troop 29 volunteered over 4 hours to help organize and sort thousands of golf donations . The boy scouts were wonderful and organized a variety of clubs, bags, shoes, balls, clothing and made the storage shed look a thousand times better. Thanks to the 10 young men, 4 fathers and Kiwanians who made a positive difference in the community. They were rewarded with pizza, drinks and golf goodies for their outstanding efforts. This troop is planning a second clean up on Sunday, November 13th, so stay tuned.
