Earl
Zook - Great Kiwanian!
by Doug Butler
You don't usually see a 80 plus year old citizen come into a Kiwanis Club with unbelievable energy, but Earl Zook of the Kiwanis Club of Winchester, Virginia proved that age isn't a factor when you love being a Kiwanian. Earl joined our Club in 2002 and from the first day was an active Kiwanian. He had just retired from representing two large companies in sales and started his own Advertising Specialty Company as Sales Manager. His love of selling put his club team in number one place with record sales of advance tickets at the Club's semi-annual Community Pancake Day which netted about thirty thousand dollars in profit. He started sponsoring new members and has each one becoming active over his enthusiasm for our Club. Each meeting he is the greeter, gives the invocation regularly and introduces a new guest he brings with him who he says "might be the greatest Kiwanian". With the purchase of a new 2008 "Caddy" he volunteered to be Inter-Club visiting Chairman so "we could inter-club in style" Kiwanis Clubs within a 100 mile radius will be seeing that "Caddy" driving up with a group of visiting Winchester Kiwanians. Earl loves selling and has put on several seminars to encourage and teach others how to enjoy selling. If every Club had a Earl Zook, then your Fund Raising budget would be over the top. From his friend in Kiwanis, Doug Butler.
