Arlington Club To Host Major Young Children/priority One Event
by Past Gov. Warren Kane

Past Kiwanis International President Wil Blechman (right) of Miami, FL will be speaking at the Kiwanis Club of Arlington's meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Noon. The Arlington Club meets at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 5115 Little Falls Road in Arlington. While leading Kiwanis International in 1990-91, Dr. Blechman coined the phrase "Young Children/Priority One" that has synthesized the organization's focus on children from pre-natal to age 5. Dr. Blechman, a noted rheumatologist has been untiring on behalf of young children and will be coming to inspire Capital District leaders and club members to a greater commitment to children.

The District officers as well as the members of the Capital District Young Children/Priority One Committee and Past International Trustee Dig DeGarmo of the International YCPO have been invited to this major event. All club presidents and Young Children Priority One chairpersons are especially urged to attend this important meeting. Interclubs are especially welcome. The Arlington Club serves a great buffet lunch for just $10. Past Governor Warren Kane is coordinating Dr. Blechman's visit. Please let him know by e-mail, warrenkane@aol.com, or on 703-524-0997 that you are coming so that the Arlington Club can be adequately prepared.
