Kiwanis Club of Hampton Participates in Real Men Read Program
by Al Newton

The Real Men Read Program brings together men from all elements of the community to simultaneously read to the all classes at the John Tyler Elementary School. This is followed by a local celebrity who then reads to the entire school via a televised presentation. This year the celebrity was childrens' book author, Stephen Michael McCall , who read excerpts from his book entitled "The Tyrannosaurs TLC; A Boy's Adventure with Tourette Syndrome 'pre-Diagnosis' ".

The participants included members of the fire department, police department, local military installations, school principals, civic clubs, men's clubs, parents among others. This was the 5th Annual Program. Pictured with the author ( l to r) Hampton Kiwanians Al Newton, the author, Bob Bennett and Jim Meadows.
