On April 10, 2020, for Kiwanis One Day, members of the Kiwanis Club of LaPlata, LaPlata High School Key Club, Milton Somers Builders Club and various members of their families, joined forces to do some sprucing up and clean up work at Gilbert Run, a local park. Flower beds were weeded & replanted with new plants, park signs were repainted & trash was picked up from the trail around the lake. As you can see, it was a beautiful day of sharing and caring and a great sense of accomplishment. After all the hard work, everyone enjoyed a picnic of hamburgers, hot dogs & cake.

(Above) Kiwanis Walk 2010. On April 10th, Kiwanis One Day, more than 100 members of the Capital District Kiwanis family participated in a walk to benefit two community organizations in Prince William County, Virginia. Over $2,000 was raised for ACTS and SERVE. The walk was held behind the Boys and Girls Club in Manassas. Organizers of the walk included members of the Kiwanis Club of Manassas Battlefield, the Kiwanis Club of Manassas, the Kiwanis Club of Woodbridge, the Circle K Club of NVCC-Woodbridge, and the Key Club of Battlefield High School.

Go to Church Sunday. As part of National Prayer Day, which is celebrated every May,  sixteen Kiwanians, spouses and family members, including Governor Don Dudey and Governor-designee Tom Varner, attended "Go to Church Sunday" at the beautiful  US Naval Academy chapel in Annapolis on Sunday, May 23rd.  Following the service, several members proceeded to a local restaurant to socialize and enjoy brunch. Many thanks to Marie Quick for her efforts in making this annual event a success.
