Around The Potomac Region

by Doris Rogers Montgomery, Potomac Region Trustee

The Potomac Region is still focing on Membership Growth. Many of our clubs are working hard to increase membeship.

The buz around in the Capital District is the dues increase. Governor Don Dudey and our Past Governors are making there way around the regions, presenting power Point presentation.. These presentations are to assist us in understanding why and increase is necessary. The last dues increase was in 1995.

I am the first to realize membership growth is the life line of Kiwanis. Recruiting is something we should never give up on. We can do a major face lift on community service by bring in more members. I personally would like for us to be driven by, "One Vision and One Path."and staying focus on the job, and that is trying to meet the Kiwanis Internationan goal of one million members by 2015.

So, a promise of consistancy with focus on service an unity is what we really have to strive for. Therefore, if we dont, we will all develop burnout with over worked members (which is what Governor Don stated in the last news letter.) I will end by saying: More Members, More Hands, More Service. And oh yes, More Fun...
