Kiwanis Club of Laplata Scholarship Winner

At its May 12 membership meeting, the Kiwanis Club of Laplata awarded a scholarship to Angelina King, an outstanding senior at Laplata High School. Another guest of the Club that day was Angelina's teacher and mentor, Linda Adgate, the leader of Maryland's Tomorrow program at Laplata High School who has counseled Angelina throughout her 4 years of high school. Mrs. Adgate described Angelina's progress in high school, which culminated in a superior grade point average during Angelina's senior year.

When Angelina received her award, the Club members applauded and cheered. After the meeting, Angelina said it was one of the best days of her life. It certainly was one of the highlights of our Club's year!
