Division 23 Key Club Officers want Kiwanis !!

On Saturday, 22, May, the Poquoson High School hosted an outstanding Division 23 Training Conference for the Key Club officers who took office on 1 April. It is the responsibility of Kiwanis to assure that training is provided to the Key Club leadership teams. Our Division has taken this responsibility seriously and has developed a formal training syllabus to do just that. Kiwanian Tom French, working with Key Club LTG Daniella Tasara and Key Club Faculty Advisor of the Year Mic Platt from Poquoson High School put together a fun and informative interactive session which had all the right elements for success... including great food and open forums to learn and grow together as Kiwanis Family members. This is our second annual training event. It has really developed into a great tool for success. We provide training not just the club officers, but for the Kiwanis and faculty advisors as well. We had a great turnout: 11 of the 14 clubs in the division were represented, along with their advisors. They showed up in strength because they believe in what Kiwanis and the Kiwanis Family stands for. Now, it is up to us as Kiwanians to assure that our Kiwanis support comes to them, in strength, throughout the year.

Service Leadership Organizations such as Circle K International, Key Club, Builders Club, K-Kids and Aktion Club in Division 23 have provided over 22,000 hours of service in the local communities in just the 2009/2010 Kiwanis year so far. Using the Federal standard of over $17.00 per hour as the value of an hour of service this translates to over $374,000.00 worth of service to the community. How about that for ROI?
