Kiwanis Clubs Walk to Benefit Community
by Brian Bell
(Manassas, VA) - Sometimes it takes small steps to make a big difference. That's why members of the Kiwanis family are organizing a walk open to the public to benefit two Prince William County community organizations, ACTS and SERVE.
The walk will be held behind the Boys and Girls Club of Manassas from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 10, 2010, Kiwanis One Day, Kiwanis International's call for a day of community service. Participants will be able to walk for any distance they choose in a scenic park-like setting. There will also be family fun, food and entertainment. All of the money raised will stay local, to be split evenly between ACTS and SERVE.
A donation of $10.00 is suggested, with higher donations certainly welcome. To register, please go to www.kiwaniswalk.org.
Organizers of the walk include members of the Battlefield Kiwanis Club, the Kiwanis Club of Manassas, the Kiwanis Club of Woodbridge, the Circle K Club of NVCC-Woodbridge, and the Key Club of Battlefield High School.
"This is a great opportunity to unite Kiwanis and our community in support of two important local causes," says Andy Anderson, member of the Battlefield Kiwanis Club and a Kiwanis Walk organizer.
We are looking to have the public join us in support of these worthy local organizations.
