Clinch River Club Hosts Bowling for Kids Tournament
by Allison Sparks
Claypool Hill - Clinch River Kiwanis hosted its second annual Bowling for Kids tournament at Fireside Lanes March 13. 20 teams took part in the event which raises funds for the Special Field Day the Kiwanis holds each spring. The team sponsored by Tressia's Trends took first place with a score of 868.
Molar Bowler's Team number Two was second and Molar Bowlers team number one placed third. In addition to awarding a trophy to the overall winner, the Kiwanis awards a trophy to the Biggest Loser, (team with lowest overall score), Team Number One from First Community Bank took that honor this year.
A new attraction this year was a competition among teams from the various schools. Team Number Two from Richlands Elementary became the first winner of a trophy that will rotate yearly to the school of the winning team.
The Kiwanis wishes to thank Fireside Lanes for use of the facility and all of the businesses who sponsored a team, lane or made a donation. Your efforts will help more than 400 special needs students have a day of fun and food on May 13.
