Division 17 Foundation Fundraiser to Benefit Miracle League Baseball Park of Montgomery County

by Joyce Sharon

Triumph of Love
Sunday, April 25, 2010 - 2:00 p.m.
Tickets: $45 pp
The Olney Theatre, Rt 108 (Olney-Sandy Spring Rd), Olney, MD 20832

The proceeds will benefit the first Miracle League Baseball Park in Maryland. This special park will be built on Schaefer Road in Germantown, MD near the Soccerplex and will provide developmentally challenged children and adults, not only in MD but in VA and DC, an opportunity to play baseball with other children. This complex will include a custom-designed field with a cushioned rubberized surface to help prevent injuries, wheelchair-accessible dugouts and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound or visually impaired players. "Buddies" will assist all Miracle League players. Buddies will be children from youth church groups, boy and girl scouts, Kiwanis Key Club members, etc. The goal is to bring parents, children and volunteers together - special need and mainstream working to help each other.

Come and join us and be a part of this very special event!!!! Please contact Joyce Sharon, Lt. Governor Elect - Division 17 at joycesharon@hotmail.com or 301-977-0911 or 301-412-6033 for more information.
