Kiwanis and Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation

"Serving the Children of the World" is the mission of Kiwanis. The local Kiwanis Club of Greater OP-OC was privileged to hear about one of the wonderful local organizations that dedicates itself to making children happy. Wayne Littleton, Director of the "Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation" located in Ocean City was the guest speaker at the March 10th Kiwanis meeting shown with Kiwanis Club President, Dan Peletier, on his right. Wayne shared details about his organization's mission: "We believe in keeping families together during a child's medical crisis, and that the gentle cadence of normal family life has a powerful influence on the healing process. We believe the highest standards of service and unparalleled hospitality help create a unique healing environment, where families find hope and comfort. Since 1986, Believe In Tomorrow has provided over 300,000 overnight accommodations, helping families stay together in the midst of a medical crisis."

Wayne's biggest pleasure is seeing the smiles on the faces of the children and their families while they are enjoying their stay at the beach. His biggest concern is FUND-raising which is a must. His staff is small, his approximately 125 volunteers are essential, which allows 93% of all funds to go to support of the programs.
