PLG Paul Miller and Richard Lankford

It is with great sadness, Division 11 reports the death of two fine Kiwanians, PLG Paul J. Miller, Sr. and Richard Lankford, Jr.
Past Lt. Gov Paul J. Miller, Sr. 77 of New Castle, DE, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at his home after a short illness. A native Delawarean, Paul made his career as a professional salesman, retiring from Bayless Office Equipment after 20 years of service. He a member of the Wilmington Kiwanis Club since 1971, and an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church choir for many years. A gifted vocalist, he led the Kiwanis Club in song, directed the choir at the Howard Weston Senior Center and was part of a select senior choir that gave concerts for local nursing home residents. Mr. Miller was Lt. Governor from 1989-90, served as Wilmington Kiwanis Club President 1985-86 and Club Secretary for many years. On March 3, members of his Club, along with Gov. Don Dudey and Lt. Gov Rosemary Cummings visited him in his home to present him with the Kiwanian of the Year Award for his exemplary service to Kiwanis. He is survived by his wife, Georgianna, three sons, and five grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
Georgetown Kiwanis Club reported the sudden loss of Kiwanis member, Richard L. Lankford, Jr. March 15, 2010 in his home. He was 54. Richard owned and operated Lankford Enterprises. He loved music, hunting, flying, enjoyed weight lifting and had won the title of Mr. Eastern Shore. Richard was a member of Georgetown Kiwanis since 1995 and had coached Georgetown Little League for many years. Richard is survived by his wife, Lisa; two children, his father, Richard L., Sr. and Brenda Lankford, (both Kiwanians), his mother, Mamielee Lankford and two brothers.
