Kiwanis House Signs Help Fund Local Club and Protect Community
by David Landis
Pictured are (L) Kiwanian Ralph Chinn being thanked by President of the Kiwanis Club of Greater OP-OC, Roy Foreman (R), for the $500 check presented to the club's service fund.
The Kiwanis Club makes the OPA officially approved House Number Sign and installs them in front of houses in the Pines making it so much easier for the Pines Police and Fire Department and Ambulance Service to find the correct house when responding to calls. While the homes in the Pines do have house numbers somewhere on them, the numbers are not always easy to see, especially in the dark, which is why the Kiwanis House Number Signs are installed in the front of the property, close to the street.
Signs cost $15 and re-painting of signs is $10. Pictured right is the display in the Ocean Pines Administration Building entrance.
Pick up forms for both signs and re-painting at the OP Administration Office near White Horse Park. Forms have details about check amount(s) and "payable to" as well as where to drop off or mail the the completed forms to Kiwanis. Any profits from the signs support the operation of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines - Ocean City. Order your OPA approved house number signs now or have existing signs re-painted before winter sets in. BE SAFE!

At the 2011 DCON installation of officers ceremony, Kiwanis International Counselor Jane Erickson presented Tom with two pair of bulky athletic sox so that he might be better able to fill the big shoes left behind by outgoing Sec/Treas Ellis. "No one can fill Ellis’ shoes, but I will use all the skills and talents I have to be the best District Secretary/Treasurer that I can be," said Tom. ...more
