Good News for our SLP's from the Kiwanis International Foundation

So far the Capital District is 5th in the world in per member giving for the Annual Club Gift Campaign. The good news is that our philanthropy has already qualified 6 members of Key Club or CKI to obtain a $500 Scholarship grant from Kiwanis International if a matching grant is available (traditionally the matching grant has come from our own Capital District Kiwanis Foundation). In other words, as of February 15, 2011 clubs from the Capital District have shared their treasure at an average rate of $3.42 per member District Wide! When we reach the $5.00 per member average we will have qualified for a total of 10 matching scholarships. If for some sad reason we only average $4.99 we will lose two of those scholarships…$2000.00 worth for the lack of a penny… Let's not let that happen!!!

Thank you especially to Division 11 ($5.17 average per member), Division 17 ($5.12 average per member), Division 23 ($5.18 average per member) and especially to Division 12 with $5.68 per member average). Clearly, there is a culture of caring in the Capital District.

There are some clubs where this culture runs very deep. Children are their first and foremost priority and they understand the value of the Kiwanis International Foundation:
