Woodridge Club Morns Loss

William (Bill) Evan Young, Woodbridge Kiwanis Club
William (Bill) Young of Fort Myers, Florida, died May 2nd after a long battle with renal failure. Bill joined the Woodbridge Club in April 1987, was Club President during 1995-1996, Treasurer from 1996 to 2000, and also managed the Club's fireworks sales for several years. Bill retired from his accounting firm in Lake Ridge, VA in 2006 and moved to Ft. Myers. He is survived by his mother, Margaret of Ft. Myers and a sister, Miriam Braniff. Bill graduated from American University with a BA and MBA degrees in public accounting. Besides belonging to our club for a long time, he was an officer in the Sons of the American Revolution.

Bernard (Bernie) Matthew Sisson 1935 - 2009, Woodbridge Kiwanis Club
Bernard Sission, age 74, died at his home in Triangle,Virginia, on March 8th, 2009. Bernie joined the Woodbridge Club in 1990 and served as Club President during 1996-1997. Bernie was always available to help the Club in anyway necessary. He was born in Quantico Town, Virginia, on March 8, 1935. After graduating from Georgetown Law School, Bernie returned to the Triangle/Quantico area to open his Law Practice 1959. In 1969, he began working for the Department of Justice until his retirement in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Caton Sission; one son, Bernard Caton Sission; and two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Nuti and Mary Margaret Sisson Roberts; and fourteen grandchildren, the joy of his life. Besides being a Kiwanian for a long time, he was one of the original parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Triangle.
