Churchland Club Recognizes Employee of the Year
by Stephen Korving
On Thursday, April 16, the Kiwanis Club of Churchland held the 35th annual Portsmouth City Employee of the Year Award ceremony. (The award was previously sponsored by the Merrimac Club, which has since merged with the Churchland Club.) A club committee was appointed to select the recipient from the nominees presented by the City Departments.
This year's winner is Diane DaSilva, Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Museums and staff liaison to the Museum & Fine Arts Commission and to the History Commission. The revolving departmental plaque contains the names of the thirty five winners and will be in the possession of the winning department until the next annual award.
PLG Jack Lyons served as Master of Ceremonies and made the award presentation. Co-chairmen Saul Lowe and Richard Wagner did and excellent job in arranging this event.
