At a recent club meeting the Kiwanis Club of Frederick presented a donation to Mission of Mercy.   Mission of Mercy's Maryland/Pennsylvania/Texas and Arizona Mobile Medical & Dental Clinic Program has been serving the ininsured and underinsured in theses regions since 1994.  They also provide prenatal care at limited sites.  It has grown into a charitable organization that serves nearly 5,000 patients annually at the seven clinic sites in Maryland and two in South Central Pennsylvania via a mobile medical unit.  Presenting the check is Consie Meyers, Club President and Rozalind Nasher, member.  Receiving the check is David Liddle, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Mission of Mercy.


Salem Kiwanis Club inducted 3 new members at their Tuesday meeting.  The new members are Amy Looney, Andre Howes and Jim Crockett.  These new members were welcomed into the Salem Kiwanis Club by their sponsors and members of the club.

On Saturday 14 Jan 2012 at the ribbon cutting for the New Kids Island in Poquoson VA, Jim Christol (right) presents a $500 check to Poquoson mayor Gene Hunt. The donation is earmarked to help build a handicapped access way. Jim is the President of the Kiwanis Club of Poquoson.  The money was raised last October during Mackenzies Run - - and Mackenzie and her father Steve Clarke (pictured behind check) were on hand to help make the presentation.



Kiwanis Club of Ellicott City presents a $500 donation to Neighbor Ride!
The Executive Director of Neighbor Ride, Brad Closs, is holding a check presented to him by the President of the Kiwanis Club of Ellicott City, Kennette Mitchell. Standing to the right of Kennette is Club Treasurer, Bob Martin, who is a charter member of the Board of Directors of Neighbor Ride. Serving Howard County since the Fall of 2004, when the then County Executive Jim Robey did the first drive,  Neighbor Ride's mission is to "…..decrease isolation and improve the quality of life for Howard County's older residents by providing a…….transportation service which utilizes community volunteers and resources." The Kiwanis Club of Ellicott City has been a charter supporter of Neighbor Ride!



Colonial Heights Kiwanis Club recognized Roger Green as Kiwanian of the Year and a Special Award to Shelby Frazier for Service and Leadership.



On Jan. 18th, the Colonial Heights Kiwanis welcomed two new members, Heather Harrison and Mike Hammer. L to R: AG Moore, Heather Harrison, Judy Moore (Kiwanis sponsor) and Mike Hammer.



Alexis I. DuPont High School Key club volunteered their Christmas Eve morning to serve pancake breakfast to the hungry and homeless.  This wonderfully dedicated group is led by Science teacher and author Annette Calibeo and they look forward to spending every 4th Saturday (7 to 10 am) performing this amazing act of kindness by help feed almost 200 people monthly. 



Energized and devoted Key Club members from St. Mark's High School, graciously volunteered their time to spread Christmas Joy and lots of Fun Caroling at Christiana Hospital, located in Newark, Delaware. 



A New Wilmington DE Aktion Club's First Project. The new Aktion Club at Genesis Hillside Nursing Center in Wilmington, DE collected 25 bags of clothing and donated them to The Salvation Army. This was the Aktion club's first community service project. Some of those present shown handing over the clothing to Major Phillip DeMichael of The Salvation Army are Dolores, President Juanita, Adviser Pauline Motley, Dennis and Leonora! Kiwanis member (not shown here), Frank Werner, drove the clothing over to The Salvation Army headquarters immediately afterwards for distribution.



The Charter School of Wilmington, DE has excitedly just finished making "Wishing Wells" for "The Make a Wish Foundation" to support a young boy named Sam. The club is raising money to send Sam to Disney World and help Sam fulfill his dream!



Wilmington, De Kiwanis Honors 4th Quarter Award Winners from the Wilmington Fire Department. Shown are Firefighter Cornelius Skinner, Firefighter John Smith and LT. Eric Haley. Upon arrival at a fire scene they confirmed that 2 children were trapped inside on the second floor. Using the Ladder Tower, they entered the second floor and began their search. Two children, ages one and three, were found unconscious and were removed. Medical attention was given immediately and the two children were turned over to the EMS team for continued CPR and transportation to a hospital. Miraculously, the children survived and are now recovering from their injuries.
