Rockville, MD Sponsored Key Clubs Making a Difference
by Miriam Gandell
During the holiday season. the Rockville Club reports that a lot of good was done for our community.
The Rockville High School Key Club collected $175 for the Eliminate Project by "Trick or Treating for UNICEF." They also found time to run a toy drive to collect gifts for a local shelter program.
The Maguder High School Key Club participated in both the Governor's Project (Red Cross) by holding a school-wide Blood Drive and the District effort (Project Eliminate). They held fundraisers in December and January and plan to continue in February. So far this school year, they have raised more than $200 for Project Eliminate.
Lastly, the Richard Montgomery Key Club raised $200 by holding a Frisbee contest by charging an entry fee of $15 to participate in this fun event. The money raised was donated to Children's Hospitals.
These busy students are proud to represent Kiwanis International at the local level and are grateful to be able to help others - both in our community and around the world.
