Mount Vernon Club Distributes Free Books

On December 19, 6 members of the Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club (MVKC) joined the Creekside Neighborhood Center (CNC) Program Director Blanca Vasquez and her staff to make their Xmas Party even merrier. The MVKC members helped to distribute 2 free books to 70 children by writing the child's name in the books they chose and bagging them for easy carrying home. They also distributed 40 Wal-Mart gift certificates to the best attendees in the after school program. The MVKC members participating were Betty Puscheck, Bob Valone, Vivien and Richard Peterson, Joanne and Bruce Malkin. Pizza and drinks were provided by the CNC, and the joint effort was a big success with a lot of happy children receiving useful gifts.
