The Kiwanis of LaPlata held its Second Annual Blanket Making Day! Our group made 14 fringed blankets for new born babies at Civista Medical Center. Our blanket making day was well attended by several members of our club including Emily Ferren, President; John Reith, Past President; Linda Kandel, Sharon Reith, Judi Gorney, Gale Crooks, President Elect; and Melody Stahl.

Maureen Jenkins, Nurse Manager for the OBGYN Department at Civista and Molly Martin, joined us for our meeting where we proudly presented our blankets. Maureen told us how nice it was to be the recipient of our wonderful blankets and how happy they will make the parents who would be receiving them for their babies. These blankets will be given to babies whose parents might not have something warm and comfy to take their baby home from the hospital in.

Our Club is looking forward to having our Third Annual Blanket Making Day in the near future!
