Charlottesville K-Family Supports Salvation Army
The Charlottesville K-Family went all out to support the annual Red Kettle Drive for the Salvation Army of Charlottesville. Kiwanians rang the bells for eight hours outside Krogers Rio Hill on December 4 and then again for eight hours on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall near Bank of America on December 18. The five Key Clubs sponsored by Charlottesville Kiwanis also rang for numerous hours at various locations around town. Results are still being tabulated, but early returns showed that the K-Family helped raise approximately $1,500 for the Salvation Army in this year's drive.

Charlottesville Sells Trees and Wreaths to Support SLPs
The Charlottesville Kiwanis Club conducted its 78th annual Christmas Tree and Wreath sales event and enjoyed a resounding success. All money raised is directed back to the community in support of the five Key Clubs at local public high schools and the CKI Club at the University of Virginia. More than 400 youth conduct selfless community service and learn valuable leadership skills by participating in Kiwanis-sponsored programs. The proceeds from this annual event also help sponsor the Kiwanis team in Charlottesville's Central Little League and provide a meal and entertainment for the annual "Holiday Party for People with Disabilities."

Charlottesville K-Family Brings Holiday Joy
The CKI Club at the University of Virginia conducted its third annual "Breakfast with Santa" on Saturday morning December 4th, while the Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville provided its 29th "Holiday Party for Persons with Disabilities" on Monday evening December 13th. More than a hundred people shared a meal served by K-Family members, were amazed by the spirited antics of Mr. Magic, played games and did arts and crafts with CKI and Key Club members, and, of course, enjoyed a visit from Santa, portrayed again this year by Kiwanis past president Philip Day. Venerable Memorial Gym at the University of Virginia never looked more festive than it did when CKI welcomed guests from the Boys & Girls Club, the Salvation Army Shelter and Transitional Housing Unit, and the Hope Community Center. WorkSource Enterprises was the setting for the Holiday Party for clients of WorkSource, Region Ten Community Services Board, and the ARC of the Piedmont.
