New Club Builders - New Club Charter Gifts

As Kiwanis clubs continue to reflect their members and their communities, new formats of clubs have been encouraged by the organization. These formats include Internet clubs, 3-2-1 clubs, young professional clubs and others. While these clubs have evolved in recent years, the practice of providing new club charter gifts has not adapted to reflect these new club formats.  As an example, an internet club does not have a purpose for a gong, gavel, banner, or flag as their meetings do not take place in a physical room where these items may be displayed. Happy New Year to everyone in our Kiwanis Family and their famlies.

When you read this, we will be in the first year of the second decade of the 21st century. What is significant about the first of the calendar year in Kiwanis? Our year starts on October 1 and everyone goes full out for three months. Then, Kiwanis typically hits the low time of the Kiwanis Year. That is, there is less service and fund raising done in the first three months of the calendar year than in any of the other three quarters.....more

Archiving Kiwanis Club of Richmond Documents

Last year an ad hoc committee was appointed with the mission of setting up a procedure for collecting, preserving and cataloging our records that have been accumulating over the past ninety years. Our records and documents were being stored at Pollard & Bagby, Inc., Realtors, 2 South Fifth Street, where the club has its administrative offices.
