Two members accumulate 135 years membership in Kiwanis Club of Roanoke

At the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke, Virginia's annual program to recognize members who have earned the Legion of Honor, 25 years of membership, two members stood out: Lynn Hammond, Jr., who has 70 years membership, and John "Jack" Wimmer, with 65 years membership. Hammond had 40 years of perfect attendance before becoming a senior member and Wimmer had 33 years of perfect attendance before becoming a senior member last year.Hammond joined in 1940 at age 25 and Jack Wimmer was introduced to Kiwanis by his Grandfather after he returned home from World War II in 1946.Jack Wimmer served as President of the club in 1989 and his son Bill Wimmer, now deceased, was also a member of the club.
