Poquoson Club Holds Cook-Out
by Brian Wilson
On The weekend of October 16---18, The Kiwanis Club of Poquoson, VA. with help from our Key and Builders Clubs and in conjunction with the City's "Annual Seafood Festival", cooked 2,400 lbs of our "World Famous Pork Barbecue. In spite of the weather being lousy, with rain and cold wind, the festivities went on as scheduled and we had a complete "sellout", raising over $7,000 for funding our various programs. As a warm-up to this major effort, last May, The Poquoson Kiwanis Club cooked 4,400 lbs (over two tons) of Pork Butts and sold every last ounce. Is there a club out there that can beat that effort?
